Preventative dentistry is at the heart of every treatment we offer here at Droitwich Spa Dental Aesthetics & Implant Centre. By providing regular care from both our dentists and dental hygienists, we’re able to provide our patients with a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums. By focusing on prevention, we can reduce and even remove the need for interventionist treatments while keeping your oral health in tip-top condition.

What exactly is preventative dentistry?

Preventative dentistry only works when the dentist, hygienist, and patient are all working together in parallel. Working with the foundation of a proper at-home oral care routine, regular visits to the dental hygienist, and twice annual dental check-ups, we can ensure a lifetime of good oral care.

This doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll never need an intervention treatment again, but it does mean we’ll catch any issues early on and be able to treat you in as minimally-invasive way as possible.

What can I do at home?

• Your at-home oral care routine is of the utmost importance and should always include:
• Brushing your teeth twice a day for two minutes
• Flossing regularly and/or using an interdental toothbrush
• Changing your toothbrush or toothbrush head every 3 months
• Brushing your tongue

Some patients may have extra at-home care needs due to oral health issues and individual circumstances. Our dentists and dental hygienists will be able to advise on such additional needs and help design a bespoke at-home care routine just for you.
