Bridges are one of the most common and popular ways to replace missing or soon to be extracted teeth. If you’ve been living with a missing tooth or teeth, or have teeth that are decayed or damaged beyond repair, then it is very important to have them replaced as soon as possible. Replacement can help prevent further oral health issues from developing, help the patient to once again eat and speak more easily, and to return confidence to the smile.
There are several different types of dental bridges available, but all bridges are made up of a prosthesis to replace the natural tooth or teeth, and a support structure that uses neighbouring healthy teeth to keep the prosthesis in place.

Application of a bridge usually happens over two appointments. First, we’ll have to prepare the adjacent healthy teeth to accept the crown/s or support structure. Then, we’ll take a digital scan or impression which will be used to make your personal bridge/prosthesis in a trusted dental laboratory. Once this is ready, we’ll apply the bridge here in practice, making sure it fits and sits correctly.
